Bad Mommy Blues

I have been racked with guilt these past few days because we didn't have the money to take the kids to the Fall Festival this year. Guilty that I didn't buy them $15 bracelets only to have them ride one ride, that I didn't feed them greasy food and major-calorie snacks, and that I didn't let them spend loads of money on crappy games with cheap prizes. But, to my delight, Olivia's friend took her after school dismissed early on Wednesday. Also to my delight, my son had no desire to go. And finally, Briana, who kinda wanted to go but didn't beg or get upset, was pleasantly surprised when her boyfriend, who was a little sad that she couldn't go, thought about her and won her a cute little stuffed animal and brought it over after school today! How sweet!! She almost cried because I think she realized that this boy thinks of her when they are apart, even more than she realized, and it touched her immensely!! So, my bad mommy blues are mild this year and, perhaps if we're blessed, we'll be able to save up and go for a little while next year, if only just to eat and ride one or 2 rides!!

Dirich had his final game last night, did a wonderful job again as usual and the Squires beat Boonville 14-0! Great season Dirich, we're so proud of you!!
