Out With The Old...

...in with the new. New grades, new schools, new adventures...I'm very sad, excited, thrilled, and just in wonder of all that is coming up. For instance...I now have a FRESHMAN...where in the world did the time go? I also have a 7th grader now. Both of my girls will be going to new schools, in Olivia's case, very literally new in every sense of the word. She will be attending the brand spanking new Castle South Middle School. From all I've heard, it's going to be great, but many are sceptical of the new programming and format, but we'll see. As long as it doesn't affect grades, I'm all for giving it a try. That way Warrick can be better fitted for sports, academics, and all around school experience with our neighboring Vanderburgh county (even though we kill them in academics...always...LOL) Anyway, I also have a 5th grader now...his last year at what I believe to be one of the finest elementary schools around. Newburgh gave all my kids the foundation to succeed at whatever they want with positive reinforcement, firm encouragement, and strict discipline and I will forever be grateful. I will have to visit sometimes...my girls have artwork that will be displayed there forever, and also because I will miss it dearly. As I head into the chaotic world of High School, marching band, middle school/jr. high, I will be nostalgic for the days when my kids first started school. I have one more school year to enjoy my son being young, so I will cherish it. Now onto some pictures...
Last day of school...Brie, and Hayley with Alyssa in the back giving the gratuitous bunny ear sign :)

Brie and Alyssa...

Here are 4 of the 5 grandkids on the Shoup side at Julian's high school graduation party. Julian is the tall guy next to Olivia and Nic, next to Julian is my other nephew...Joseph was pushed out of the picture...lol. Actually this picture represents the kids perfectly...the 3 normal kids posing like I wanted and the 2 goofy ones acting up...LOL I love it!! But alas, Julian is 18, has now graduated and will be majoring in Mechanical Engineering at Indiana State in the fall. Where has THAT time gone? I was dating Erick when Julian was born...I changed his diapers and played with him for hours on end. It just can't be...LOL Nic came along when I was 6 months pregnant with Brie, so at one time, I played with 2 babies at once. That was interesting and fun. Now they are in high school...how can that be? LOL

Here is Olivia at her 6th grade grad ceremony at Chandler EXCEL. The red ribbons represent "A" scholarship for all 3 years she was there. Her friend and she tied for first in the math league contest, so I got a picture. I am so proud of her and so excited to see her succeed the next 2 years in Middle School that I can barely wait...LOL, but I can...and will...no rush here!! She'll be 13 in July...2 teenage daughters in one house...ARRRRRGGGGHHHH
Brie at her honors ceremony. Accepting a pin for academic excellence. SOOOO proud of her!
Brie ready for her 8th grade dance, big 80's hair and all. She was a little irate to find that someone else had the same dress, especially since she really thought nobody else would wear one from Hot Topic, but oh well...it was cute cute cute anyway, so all they can say is great minds think alike and they both have good taste!!
Olivia and Rachel started the "Cotton-Eyed Joe" dance! What fun they had!
Them girls! Bestest friends!
What a year! It was great, amazing, smashing, and UBER wonderful! Looking forward to the next!
